
How much do you charge for your services? And is it front and center on your website? If not, it should be…
Many advisors are reluctant to do this (and most don’t have their fees on their website at all). But clearly listing your fees:
- Saves you time
- Weeds out unqualified prospects
- Helps website visitors immediately see the value you offer
1. Save Time
The very first reason is just overcoming objection. People coming to your site (maybe they’ve been referred or maybe they found you online) are looking for reasons not to do business with you.
Fees obviously are a really important consideration—this is how much somebody is paying you to do business with you. So to the extent they can locate your fees on your site and check off that box that it’s within their budget, they can feel ready to move forward and take the next step with you.
2. Be Transparent
Before prospects sign paperwork and move their account, they’re going to ask and they’re going to find out how much you charge and fees. So if that’s going to be a problem for them, it’s going to kill the deal at some point anyway.
You might as well get it out of the way at the beginning, and clients value transparency in a financial advisor.
3. Highlight Your Value
There are more than 330,000 financial advisors in the United States right now. You probably charge less than most, so let it be known!
We know the average fee for an account of about 1 million is 1.02%. So if you’re charging 1% of assets under management or less for a million-dollar account or lower, you’re doing better than your competition. You’re offering a great value—and that’s something you should definitely put front and center on your website.
So to the extent you’re competitive at or near the average rates, we highly recommend putting your pricing out on your website.
A fees and services page is one of the most visited pages on our advisors’ sites. People They want to see that transparency and understand what they’re going to be paying for the service they’re purchasing from you.
