Do I need a new website?
Yes, your website is the hub of all your marketing activity. About half of our advisor clients have their websites on popular platforms for financial advisors like FMG Suite, Advisor Websites, or Twenty Over Ten. The other half have custom sites, including WordPress. We’re happy to work on any website platform and are familiar with all of the popular options. If you need a new website, we offer websites on the WordPress platform.
What about compliance?
We know that compliance is an important concern and we work with all of the major independent broker-dealers. All of the content we create goes through compliance before being published. Once it’s approved for public release, we post it on your website, where it is accompanied by proper disclosures. We’d be happy to help you navigate through the compliance rules with social media. You’ll need to have approval from your compliance department and archive your social media posts with Erado or Smarsh.
How do you work with compliance?
We can work directly with your compliance department to submit content on your behalf and make required changes. If you’re using FMG Suite for your website, we’ll upload your content to your compliance department using the built-in interface. After it’s been reviewed, we’ll make any required changes and resubmit on your behalf to minimize the time you have to spend on your marketing.
Do I have to use social media?
The best time to start using social media is 10 years ago or today. The advisors I work with get hundreds of visits to their website from social media. But don’t worry, you don’t have to concern yourself with the confusing hassle that social media can be. We’ll create your social profiles and log in on your behalf to share your content and grow your network. We do work with some advisors who do not use social media for various reasons.
How do you create custom content?
We use a survey process to understand your background, your story, and your firm. Once you choose a topic for an article or blog post, just send us some notes or additional resources that might guide our experienced writers, who are CFPs and CPAs. We write with your ideas, investment philosophy, and personality in mind. We’ll send a draft for you to review and make any changes you’d like. Once approved, we’ll send the content to compliance.
How will you send out my content?
We send out your content through several channels to get maximum exposure. This includes:

- By email to your clients and prospects
- On LinkedIn as a publication
- On Facebook targeting your clients and their friends

Can you help with my social media profiles?
Creating and optimizing your social media profiles is part of the setup process for our Total Marketing Package. If you aren’t on social media, don’t worry, we’ll set up your profiles and pages for you.
What about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for my website?
While most SEO firms charge high monthly fees and require at least a one-year commitment, our one-time SEO Package for Financial Advisors is designed to deliver maximum impact by completing the most important SEO tasks for your business. It is included in the setup process for our Total Marketing Package.
Who is my main point of contact at Indigo Marketing Agency?
Teresa Raju is our marketing consultant and sales representative who can help answer any questions about your marketing strategy and how we can help. Once you sign on as a client, Kelli McLeod will be your account manager and will take care of setting up your account and creating your custom marketing calendar.
How does the onboarding process work?
First, we schedule your initial kickoff call to review your story and background, customize your marketing strategy, and build your marketing calendar for the first year.
Next, we set up and optimize your social media profiles, email marketing system, and marketing metrics system. This allows us to send you marketing metrics reports each month so we can see how your strategy is performing.
Finally, we will get you connected with your content coordinator who will send you your custom articles each month, make sure that you stay on schedule, and coordinate compliance approval of your articles.
How often do I receive an update on my marketing strategy and metrics?
You will receive a monthly report through Databox with a link and PDF file to review your marketing performance. This report will address how much traffic is coming to your website, where that traffic is coming from, and how your social media profiles are performing.
What is a reasonable expectation for me regarding new referrals from the increased activity?
The success of your marketing depends on many factors, including the size of your current network, your current marketing activities, and how much you have been embracing a specialty in the past.

- A 50% increase in traffic to your website within the first 60 days
- An increase in referrals and awareness of your firm within 3 months

Do I select the topic for the monthly blog article?
Yes, we work together with you during the kickoff call to create the custom topics for your marketing calendar. You can always adjust your marketing calendar or add new topics as ideas come up.
Do I get to edit the blog article prior to posting?
Yes, we send your article to you every month by email so that you can edit it and approve it before it goes to compliance.
How do you help advisors get more referrals?
We build that in your marketing calendar and recommend that at least quarterly you remind clients that you grow by referrals and you’re never too busy to help someone they care about. Articles to encourage referrals include “Do you know anyone who needs our help?”
I already write content, how can you help me?
Many of the advisors we work with write their own content. For a discounted rate, we can provide a helpful second set of eyes to edit and proofread your content. Additionally, we upload, promote, and deploy your content for you, taking those time-consuming tasks off your plate.
Can you help me promote my events?
As part of our Total Marketing Package, we help to get maximum exposure and positive response from your upcoming events. This includes creating a registration page on your website, promoting your event by email, and sharing on social media.
